Billy Thomas Sloan, 81 of Camden passed away February 12, 2011. He was born February 14, 1929 in Curtis, Arkansas to the late Willie Sloan and Daisy Maher Sloan. Billy worked for International Paper Company in Camden for 25 years then was self employed as a dirt contractor until retirement.

He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Camden.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters, Rachel Wilson, Ruth Knight and Anna Priddy.

He was survived by his wife, Ruby Sloan for 61 years; his son, Wayne Sloan and wife, Rosemary of Camden; daughters, Karen Sharp of Camden and Nancy Brown and husband, Waylon of Magnolia; 7 grandchildren, Chad Sloan and wife, Stacy of Camden, Starla Beall and husband, John of Benton, Tracy Ray and husband, Phillip of Little Rock, Christopher Harrison and wife, Evelyn of New York, Curtis Sharp and wife, Valerie of Rogers, Arthur Stokenbury of Benton, Gretchen Keith and husband, Damon of Rogers; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Graveside funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the Bethesda Cemetery on Mt. Holly Road with Rev. John Burleson officiating. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden.

Pallbearers will be Chad Sloan, Christopher Harrison, Curtis Sharp, Arthur Stokenbury, John Beall, Phillip Ray and Damon Keith.
