MONONA - Eleanor Lucille Langholff, age 82, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at St. Marys Hospital. Eleanor was born and raised on the South Side of Madison and for the last 42 years lived in Monona. She was born on Sept. 8, 1920, in Madison, to Hugo and Alma Philipp. Eleanor married Arlow Langholff on Sept. 9, 1937. They celebrated 65 years of marriage in September. She was a homemaker and over the years enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, boating, square dancing and being with her family (children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren). Survivors include her husband, Arlow; a son, Dean (Janice) Langholff of Wisconsin Rapids; two grandchildren, Lori (Curt) Albrecht of Philadelphia, Pa., and Darin (Kim) Langholff of Wisconsin Rapids; five great-grandchildren, Joshua and Ashley Albrecht, Erica, Maisie and Hunter Langholff; and a sister, Betty (Roger) Barringer of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lloyd (Margaret) Philipp and George (Era) Philipp; and a sister, Dorothy (Milton) Kneebone. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 21, 2003, with the Rev. Jeffrey Meyer of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church presiding. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
