She was a member of First General Baptist Church and the Ladies Aide Society. She worked in sales for Becks Furniture Store and Marshelle's Dress Shop and was a volunteer for Lourdes Daybreak at the Ballard County Senior Center.
Surviving are one daughter, Gladna Francelle Johnson of Barlow, Kentucky, one stepdaughter, Nellie Virginia Goforth of Mountain Home, Arkansas, one sister, Amanda Frances Tharp of Barlow, Kentucky two brothers, Harmon Foster Negley of Barlow, Kentucky and Ehlman Farley Negley of Providence, Kentucky, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James Bernard Heathcock, her parents, Samuel Greg Negley and James Ella Brookings Negley and one brother, James Farrow Negley.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2004 at Jones Funeral Home in La Center with the Rev. Bud Culp officiating. Burial was in Barlow City Cemetery.
