Mrs. Henrietta F. Wells, age 86, one of the oldest of the pioneer residents of Palatka, died at her home here early Wednesday morning, following an extended illness and aggravated by a fall, when she received a broken hip and other injuries.
The deceased was born and reared in Macon, Ga., and had been a highly esteemed resident of Palatka for the past 58 years. She had long been a faithful member of the Episcopal Church, and was a charter member of the local lodges of the Eastern Stars and Rebekahs. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ida Tatum of Jacksonville, Mrs. Kate Simms of South Jacksonville, and Mrs. Florence Eleanor Causey of Palatka, as well as 11 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held this Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, with Rev. W. C. Cravner officiating.
Interment will be in West View Cemetery, with Eastern Star rites at the graveside. W. Carl Davis and Son in charge. (Times-Herald Obituary dtd Friday, 30 Jan 1942.)
