Friends may call 5:00 – 7:00 PM with a Service of Remembrance at 7:00 PM Friday at David-Donehower Funeral Home. The visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Marian Ione Siekas was born November 29, 1920 in Leigh, Nebraska to Don and Hazel (Postle) Eggleston. She lived in Nebraska until moving to Chassell, MI in 1937. Marian was united in marriage to Norman Siekas July 1, 1942 in Detroit, MI. She lived with her parents in Detroit while Norm served with the U. S. Army. In 1950, they moved to Detroit Lakes, MN. In the 1960's, Marian worked for the Census Bureau and, later for the Medicine Shop. Norm died in 2008.
Marian enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge, golf, being involved with Beta Sigma Phi, bowling with the Englund Furniture Bowling Team, picnics in the back yard, collecting recipe books and trying new recipes.
Survivors include two sons: Michael (LuAnn) of Crookston, MN, David (Sharon) of Brainerd, MN, a daughter: Gayle (Michael) Damlo of Detroit Lakes, 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, a brother: Verle (Marge) Eggleston of Santa Anna, CA, sisters-in-law: Grace Eggleston of Orange, CA, Darlene Siekas of Houghton, MI and Leila (Bob) Malmstrom of Lavonia, MI. In addition to her husband, Norm, she was preceded in death by a son: Dennis, three sisters: Donna, Jan, Linda and a brother: Donald "Bud" Eggleston.
