EL CAMPO - Voris Glen Johnston, 83, of El Campo and formerly of Hobbs, N.M. and Tulsa, Okla., passed away on May 11, 2011. He was born on Oct. 4, 1927 in Sand Springs, Okla. to the late John Frank and Cora Ellen Coppage Johnston. He was employed by Texaco as a geologist/production superintendent before retiring in 1984.
He is survived by his daughter Lael Martin of El Campo; son, John Marcus Johnston of Midland; grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Martin of El Campo, Taylor Glen Martin of El Campo, Shaun Johnston, and Keith Johnston; sister, Sylvia Johnston Byers of Tulsa, Okla.; and brother, Cecil Marcus Johnston of Tulsa, Okla.
His parents, wife, Beverly Mae Johnston; son, Richard Hampton Johnston; and brother, Warren F. Johnston, preceded him in death.
Visitation will begin at noon today, with the family receiving visitors from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Triska Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2011 in Hobbs, N.M. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in El Campo on May 25, 2001.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 312 Depot St., El Campo, TX 77437.
