He was a farmer and grew corn, beans and tobacco and loved fishing and hunting. He was a member of Community Holiness Church and served in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by Carol N. Watson; sons, "Johnny" Franklin Watson and Franklin "Howard" Watson; daughters, Veronica Watson Braxton and Margie Watson Eubanks; stepson, William "Odell Jones, Jr.; Step-daughters, Linda Little, Leatha Daugherty, Pamela Hemby, and Frances Jones; brother, Willard "Bossman" Watson; sisters,Lavonia "Tanker" Crabtree, "Mickey" Marilyln Daugherty, Audrey "Stumpy" Quinn, Dalphas Spain, Velma French and Joyce Jenkins; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was held 10:30 A.M. Friday, December 24, 2010 at Greenleaf Memorial Park with Rev. James Cook and Rev. John Coward officiating.
