Age 48, died April 16, 2010, after a short battle with non-smokers lung cancer. Brad was born on March 4, 1962, and was a native of Hampton, Iowa, who moved to California in 1985 after he graduated from Iowa State University.

He was a kind and generous man with a brilliant sense of humor. He was the consummate host of many gatherings and was always looking for ways he could help others. He worked in the restaurant and retail businesses for many years, but ultimately ended up working as an aide at Twin Lakes Elementary School where his children once attended.

Brad was preceded in death by his father, Edwin "Bud" Abbas.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sherri Gronner Abbas, his two children, Lyra and James Abbas, his mother Dorothy (Pandil) Abbas of Hampton, Iowa, his sister Sherry Swieter and her husband Wes of Ackley Iowa, his sister Shelly Craighton and her husband Les and their sons Nolan and Clay of Hampton, Iowa, his special aunt Alethea Imerman of Hampton, Iowa, his mother in law Donna Gronner of Orangevale, California, his father in law and his wife, Frank and Sue Gronner of Cedarville, Illinois, and his sister in law Cathy Grayson and her husband Scott and their children Katie and Mike of Franklin, Wisconsin, plus many other uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A celebration of Brad's life will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at Twin Lakes Elementary School, 5515 Main Ave., Orangevale California.

A funeral service will be held for Brad at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 22 1st Avenue SW, Hampton, Iowa on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations for an educational fund for Twin Lakes Elementary School. PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL .
