WALNUT COVE, NC ~ Betty Jean Hall Ashby, 74, died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at WFU Baptist Medical Center.
Betty Jean was born June 11, 1938 in Stokes County to Chester Arthur and Ola Caudle Hall.
She was a housewife and site manager with Meals on Wheels in Pine Hall. Betty Jean graduated from Pine Hall High School. She was a member of Belews Creek Baptist Church for over 30 years and was the church treasurer.
A 2:00 pm funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Burroughs Chapel with Rev. Mike Neal and Rev. Ronnie Craddock. Burial will follow at Walnut Cove Cemetery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dean Ashby; 1 sister, Stacie Ore and 6 brothers, Arthur, Homer, Curtis, Leo, C.A., and Bill Hall
She is survived by her son, Timothy Hall Ashby of Walnut Cove; sister, Audwilla Martin of Madison and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Burroughs Funeral Home.
