MY FATHER - Known to his friends as 'Gentleman Jim'

*********************************************************

My father came to England in early 1950's to look for work.

He married my mother Margaret Valerie Taylor on the 11th February 1956 at Coventry Registry Office, Coventry, Warwickshire.

At the time he married my mother he was a builder's labourer, he later worked in Coventry's famous car industry.

They had three children including myself, but unfortunately the marriage didn't last. They separated in 1974, but because my father was an Irish Catholic he could not get a divorce, my mother being a protestant could divorce him, but refused. ln 1975 my father went back to his beloved Ireland to live out the rest of his days.

During his adult life my father survived a burst stomach ulcer, several heart attacks, and even a brain haemorrhage, but just days before his 74th birthday, he suffered his last heart attack and died.

He lived alone with his beloved Jack Russell terrier Annie, in a very remote part of Ireland, and his body was not discovered until several days later. My father is buried in the 'Dowd' family plot, in a nearby cemetery, unfortunately l don't know the name of the cemetery.

He died aged 73.

Cause of death: Heart attack.
