Arthur David Dilbeck was born October 23, 1903 in Thomas, Oklahoma (Johnston County), son of William 'Will' Dilbeck (1864-1944) and Laura Inez Self (1868-1954).

Arthur's siblings were Walter Franklin Dilbeck, Mary Alice Dilbeck, Jesse Lee Dilbeck, Bertha Jane Dilbeck, William Henry Dilbeck, Sarah Nettie Dilbeck, Etta E. Dilbeck, Lela Myrtle Dilbeck, Ada Bell Dilbeck, Pearl Ruth Dilbeck, Floyd Alan Dilbeck, and Eugene Monroe Dilbeck.

Arthur's parents moved with some frequency and had children in various states.
