Joe Clayton Stevenson Jr., 56, of New Bern, died Sunday July 15th at Craven Regional Medical Center.
He was a member of the Clarks Methodist Church. Mr. Stevenson was a member of the St. John's Masonic Lodge #3, Scottish Rite, Sudan Temple, and was in the Sudan Patrol since Dec 1980. He was 1st Lt. of the Sudan Patrol, also Pat President of New Bern Shrine Club. He was a member of the West New Bern Fire Dept. from 1965 to 1992, and was a charter member, past chief and treasurer. He was past President of the Twin Rivers & Coastal Carolina Shag Club.
Funeral services were held Wednesday July 18m 2002 at 11:00 am at Cotton Chapel, Reverend Steve Willis officiating. Interment at Greenleaf Memorial Park, with Masonic Rites.
