Dewitt Francis Elmore, 77, (better known as D. F.) the son of Noah and Arilla Jeffries Elmore was born June 24, 1895 in Roby, Missouri
and died Tuesday May 22,1973.

He was united in marriage to Anna Easley July 21, 1922, and to this union ten children were born. Surviving are his wife, Anna, five sons, Lehman and Willie of Houston; Don and Thurman of Roby; Wayne of Plato; two daughters, Wanita Goodman, Houston; Hazel Breedlove, Lynchburg, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Arthur of Roby, and one sister, Stella Shaw of St Louis, Mo.

Mr. Elmore was a lumberman, most of his life was spent working in the timber. He had been a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge for the past 62 years. He transferred from the Turley Lodge to Houston, Texas County # 372, where he was a member at the time of his death.

Funeral services were held Thursday May 24,at the Evans-Elliott Chapel, the Rev. Weldon Foreman officiating. Burial and Odd Fellows service at the Pilot Knob Cemetery, near Roby.
