William Franklin Elmore, eldest son of William and Nancy Elmore, was born near Roby Nov. 6, 1877, and died Oct. 11, 1959, at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 5 days.

He was united in marriage to Cora Sillyman on October 31, 1906, and to this union two children were born, Mrs. Mildred Altmeyer of St. Louis and Willard of Roby.

He was a lifelong resident of Texas county, having resided the past 39 years at the present home near Roby.

He professed Christ and was baptized August 19, 1935, placing his membership with the Pleasant Hill Christian Church.

Besides his wife, son and daughter, he is survived by three grandchildren, Elaine, Roger and Dennis; 2 brothers, Charles of Houston and Dennis of Walnut, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Mayme Wyman and Mrs. Minnie Murray, both of Meeker, Colo.; 2 half-brothers, Fred and Clay Hollenbeck of Bucyrus and other relatives.

Four sisters, Dora, Mrs. Ida Gladden, Mrs. Ona Wyman and Mrs. Delia Lingo preceded him in death.

Mr. Elmore's illness was of long duration.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 14, at the Pleasant Hill church with Rev. Earl Sechler and Rev. Eugene Earp officiating. Burial was in the Knob cemetery under direction of Elliott Funeral Home.
