Annie Mae, was born to the union of Deanna Cullens-Stewart and David Stewart, in Roberts, Jones County, Georgia. She was the grand-daughter of Howard and Sarah Wallace-Stewart; also Ann and Dan Cullens.

She was one of three (3) children; a sister: Rosa Mae (Stewart) Ellison, and brother: Andrew Stewart, who both preceded her in rest.

Annie Mae was united in holy matrimony to the late Julius Caesar Akers. Although no children were born to this union, they filled their lives enjoying the children of all their relatives.

She was actively involved & devoted to her church, New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church; using her gifts of organizing & fundraising skills, working until she could barely walk.

Since 1960, she has been a member of the Eastern Star, Lone Chapter# 26, and an O.E.S. Chapter Member for 45 years. She served faithfully as the Time & Place Committee Co-Chairwoman, until her health failed.

She was dedicated to the Johnson Recreation Program, volunteering food & friendship.

She leaves to cherish her memory & feel blessed to have known her; play-sister Alice Thames of Macon, GA, devoted cousins specifically; Elaine & Bill Blocket, Dale Marks, members of the Daniels - Stewarts - Marks - Batchelor - Smiths - and Sims Families; nieces, Elaine Wright of Ferndale, MI and Sandra Bivens of Detroit, MI; streadfast and devoted friends, Mr. & Mrs. Count, Patricia Cassey of Detroit and Shirley Harper of Las Vegas

Her entire "immediate" family preceded her in rest.
