SOUTH BETHEL--Walter W. Bailey, Sr., 43, died late Monday night at CMG Hospital, Lewiston, where he had been a patient since Saturday.
Born in Monmouth, July 16, 1920, he was the son of William and Glada Bonney Bailey. He married Elizabeth Palmer, March 9, 1942. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater. He was a member of Jackson-Silver Post, AL, Locke Mills, and had been employed at Echo Tebbets factory since 1935.
Surviving are his widow; four sons, Walter Jr., Gilbert, Reginald and Dwight; two daughters, Marilyn and Elaine; a foster son, Danny Long, all of South Bethel; two brothers, Ronald, Norway and Howard, South Paris.
