Bismarck, N.D. --- The funeral for Henry J. Heyerman, 85, of Bismarck and formerly of Linton, N.D., will be at 10 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Linton. The Rev. Walter Schott will officiate.

Burial will be in the Linton Cemetery with Myers Funeral Home in Linton in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service today at the church.

He died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck.

Henry J. Heyerman was born Aug. 1, 1916, to William and Thruda (Gudmundson) Heyerman in Linton. He received his education in Linton Public Schools, and graduated in 1934. He also attended the University of North Dakota for one year. He then attended Elgin Watch Makers School in Elgin, Ill. He returned to work for his father at Heyerman Jewelry.

He married LaVonne Vikse on Oct. 18, 1941, in Pollock. He also worked at the Linton Creamery. He took over the jewelry store in 1955. He retired in 1981. They moved to Bismarck in 1998. They spent 18 winters in Apache Junction, Ariz.

He was a member of the Linton United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Linton Country Club, where he also served as a board member.

He enjoyed golfing and volunteering for construction work on the church and parsonage.

Survivors include his wife of Bismarck; three sons, Jon (Linda) Heyerman of Casselton, N.D., Tom (Kay) Heyerman of Eagan, Minn., and Jim (Mary) Heyerman of Bismarck; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Casketbearers will be Dick Goetz, Don Borr, David Heyerman, Wyatt Heyerman, Jeff Orchard and Louis Vander Vorste.
