INDIANAPOLIS – Ralph Absher, Jr., age 84, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013. Born on July 12, 1929 in Vincennes, Indiana, he was the son of Ralph and Opal (Falls) Absher. Ralph married Patricia Louise (Vores) Absher. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Ralph worked for Indianapolis Star & News for 25 years. He was a charter member of Community Christian Church in New Palestine, where he and Patricia were the first couple to be married.

Surviving him are his daughter, Erica L. (Kurt) Teets of Crestview, Florida; sisters, Barbara (Victor) Tucker of New Palestine and Melba Brodnax of Indianapolis; and one grand-daughter, Richelle Michal Teets. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia; sister, Henrietta Larrison; brother, Jack Absher; half-sister, Fern Dunfee; and nephew, Darren Tucker.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 9, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. Funeral services will be on Friday, May 10, at 10:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Pastor Todd Beale will officiate. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
