By 1880, he is listed as a cabinetmaker and living with his wife and children in Limerick, Montgomery county, PA. He is later purported to be a farmer and dies about age 70.

Herbert, Ella, Franklin, Lydia, Edna Anna, and Linford all are confirmed by records as their adult children who all went on to marry and have families of their own.
