LAKELAND -- Lela Moore Allen, 91, of Lakeland passed away Tuesday morning, July 19, 2005, in the Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Lowndes County on Jan. 15, 1914, to the late John and Willie Moore. Mrs. Allen had a love for flowers, she enjoyed caring for them until declining health forced her to stop. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hansel Allen. Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law, Bernice Conine,Lakeland, Hazel Scarbough, Lakeland, Virginia Mathis, Homerville, Peggy and Frank Cannon, Ray City, Geraldine and Raymond Bennett Stockton; 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, July 22, 2005, in the chapel of Music Funeral Services with the Rev. Austin DeLoach officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery.
