Thomas was a sea captain, educated at Charlwood School, matriculated Christ's College, Cambridge, 1628.
He married Martha Rainsborough, daughter of Captain William Rainsborough and Judith Hoxton. They married at Wapping, Stepney, Middlesex on 14 June 1635, and had two sons and one daughter; Thomas, William and Katherine. All three children died in infancy. They immigrated to New England in 1636 and settled at Charlestown, Massachusetts.
Thomas was lost at sea off the Spanish coast 27 Dec 1644.
