Jack Knowles was a farmer. He was the son of James Jackson Knowles and Elzaabeth Sandlin. He married Virginia Adella Patterson, daughter of Nathanial John Patterson and Mary Ann Brown. Jack died in Florida during WWII, and as such, most of the family was away in the war. There is no marker, yet, on their graves. A cemetery receipt gave this location, and a map at the enterence of the cemetery showed this also. The slabs you see in the photo are located behind their site. Jack and Jennie are buried in the leaf covered area in the foreground.

Great grandfather Jack died of cancer - I believe it was from tobacco, but my grandma was not positive. See the bandage on his chin? And add the fact that it appears that he is standing in tobacco lead me to believe that the story is true.

There was one more child, a daughter, born to Jack and Jennie. Her name was Annie Laurie Knowles, born May 1897. I have heard that she died young, aft 1910, but cannot prove that, nor find a grave for her.

Many thanks to Alton Christie for linking some of these children for me!
