AUTRYVILLE -- Charles Raymond Dover, 80, 1397 Yellowskin Road, died Wednesday (Feb. 23, 2005) at Mary Gran Nursing Center. Mr. Dover was a native of Chattanooga, Tenn., and a son of the late Rev. John Franklin Dover and Lillie Kirksey Dover. He was a graduate of Central High School, McKenzie Business College in Chattanooga and Bible Training Institute, Cleveland, Tenn.During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne in the European Theater and Italy. He was a licensed minister in the Church of God of Prophecy and served as pastor in Dayton, Spencer and Soddy-Daisy, Tenn.,and in Greensboro, White Oak, Lexington and Salisbury, N.C. His last pastorate was in Mesa, Ariz.Survivors include wife Cora Belle Williams Dover; daughter Sharon Romanek,Salisbury; son Charles Raymond Dover Jr.,Autryville; sister Ora Lee Meinecke, Fresno, Calif.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Mount Carmel Church of God of Prophecy, conducted by Bishop Warren H. Barfield, Bishop W.R. Nunnery and the Rev. Ray Allen officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Friday, Butler Funeral Home, Roseboro.
