He was a Home Improvement contractor. He was a member of the Junction City First Baptist Church and a 50 year member and Past Master of the Harvey McGuire Masonic Lodge #209. He was also a member of the Oleika Shrine Temple and the Lexington Scottish Rite. He was a veteran of the US Navy.
He is survived by
his wife, Lee Young Benedict;
two sons, Walter S. (April) Benedict of Junction City and Colby J. (Patricia) Benedict of England;
six grandchildren, Kaelan M. Benedict, Emily A. Benedict, Walter "Levi" Benedict, Daniel A. Benedict, Trevor D. Thompson and Hope D. Thompson.
