David Marion Rumfelt, I, 57, of Gaffney, SC, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at his home.

A native of York County, he was the husband of Ethel (Gordon) Rumfelt and son of the late Rembert Marion Rumfelt and Marcell (Partlow) Rumfelt.

An electrical foreman for Fluor Daniel Construction Company, he was a member of the Elks Lodge, VFW, was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, David Marion Rumfelt II of Blacksburg; a daughter, Cynthia Diane Rumfelt of Gaffney; a brother, William Rumfelt of Blacksburg; a sister, Ann Potter of Spartanburg; and five grandchildren.

The family receivde friends 6:00-8:00 Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at Elm Street Church of God in Gaffney, conducted by the Rev. Gary Bell. Burial was in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
