Denver Junior Cochran, 68, of Kingston, died April 14, 2013, at his home. He was born Jan. 25, 1945, in Rudd, the son of Oliver Joshua and Bessie Mae Eoff Cochran.

He had retired from the Madison County Road and Bridge Department and was an avid coon and squirrel hunter. He was a member of the Lower Campground Church and a pastor of several churches in the area since professing his call to the ministry in August 1981.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Elizabeth Harp Cochran, whom he married on July 1, 1966 and who preceded him in death on May 10, 2008. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Nita Sue Cochran; nine brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors include: one daughter, Rita Lou Cochran of Kingston; and two brothers, Mitchell Spencer of Springdale, and Harvey Armer of Irving, Texas.

Funeral services were held on April 16 at the Lower Campground Church with the
reverends Bradley Clark and Ryan Stokes officiating. Interment followed in the Liberty Cemetery with the Rev. Chad Wilson of officiating under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.

Pallbearers were: Bo Bailey, Rick Bohannon, Billy Bowen, Brad Edgmon, John Fancher, Brandon Morgan, Kenny Riley and Jasper Spradling. Honorary pallbearers were: Mike Bunch, Gene Bohannon, Leo Bowen and Tony DeVille.

The family received friends on Monday at the funeral home.
