Walter E. Rogers 89 of North Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 6, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Alice M. (DeMoranville) Rogers.

Walter was born in New Bedford, son of the late John D. and Maude M. (Mosher) Rogers. He was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the U.S. Army. He was a Teamster for over 45 years. Walter was an avid bowler and he and Alice ran the junior leagues on Saturday mornings at Midtown Bowl in Dartmouth, for many years. His greatest enjoyment was his family. You may know him at anytime, anywhere, he just might pull out his harmonica and play at tune. He will be missed!

Survivors include his 2 daughters, Charlotte Suprenant and her husband Roger and Jayne Eklund and her husband William, his 3 sons, Jerry Rogers and his wife Joyce, Barry Rogers and his companion Barbara and Brian Rogers and his wife Maureen, his sister, Arlene Bellevue and her husband Paul, his brother, Francis Rogers, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday July 22, 2016 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 764 Hathaway Road, New Bedford, Massachusetts 02740 at 6 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene in New Bedford.
