Bernice Noreen Challoner, age 80, of Adams died Saturday at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI.
Bernice was born in Coloma, WI to Hugh and Hazel (Goodwin) Monroe. She graduated from the Red Brick School in Coloma. Bernice worked on the family farm until she married Stanley Challoner on September 23, 1950 in Bancroft, WI. They lived in Babcock, Dellwood, City Point, and Hancock, before moving to Adams in 1956. They moved to the farms where they raised their family in 1966.
Bernice enjoyed going to rummage sales, auctions and antique sales. She sold her crafts at flea markets. She also enjoyed crocheting, raising her cats, woodworking, playing her guitar and accordian, following politics, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley; brother, Hubert Monroe; and sister, Bonnie Olson.
Bernice is survived by her son, Larry (Lillian) Challoner; her daughter, Barbara (Gregory) LaMont; grandchildren, Alan (Jessica) Challoner, James Challoner, Jason Challoner, Clayton (Misty) LaMont, Jeremy (Marixa) LaMont, Crystal LaMont, Derek LaMont, Justin LaMont, and Alicia LaMont; numerous great-grandchildren.
