HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mr. George Steven Washington of Woodlake Rd. entered into rest Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the University Hospital. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Thankful Baptist Church with Rev. Elliott Bing officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery. George, a native of Augusta, was a 1980 graduate of Augusta College, an Air Force/Army Veteran, a National Guard Retiree, a former DEFACS employee and a retired Probation Officer from DJJ. He started a Basket Ball Camp which bears his name. Survivors are his wife, Marie Washington; two sons, Omani and Omari Washington; granddaughter, Samayah Washington; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Lattimore. Sr. and Wade (Gloria) Jackson; nieces, Deborah (Edward) Gardner, Angela Anthony, Tiara McCullough and Takisha Lattimore; nephews, Joseph D. Lattimore, Tremel Jackson, Najhee Jackson and Jermaine Jackson; devoted friends, Walter and Queen Dobbs.
