James Edward Alewine, 79, of Ridgeway, S.C., died Dec. 14, 2006, at Ridgeway Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born May 10, 1927, in Franklin County, the son of the late Mallie Carl Alewine and Annie Ruth Myerholtz Alewine. He was a former cook and was a World War II Naval Reserve veteran. Graveside services were held Dec. 18, at the Memorial Garden of Prayer. Strickland Funeral Home - Hartwell Chapel was in charge of arrangements. (From Dec 21, 2006 issue of Hartwell Sun newspaper.)
