Bo's daughter, Wanda, remarks, "My dad kept a diary from 29 October 1944 to 29 May 1945. The book came from the Post Exchange at Camp Shanks. I have this diary, My dad never spoke of this war to me except of places he went I read it when I feel sorry for myself because a movie couldn't cover this about a man who loved his God, his family and the men he served with. The man in this diary, I loved very much, but this is a side of him I didn't know I have a son that served in the Gulf War (Bo's only grandson). I know he would not have wanted this or any more wars. All of us should be very proud of these men and women." Ewell William Westmoreland died 2 March 1981 and was buried in Crittenden Memorial Park, Marion, Arkansas.
