Mary Ann Hanks was the daughter of John & Elizabeth (Weathers) Hanks. She was born October 05, 1827 in McMinn County, Tennessee. Family legends has it that Mary Ann was married for a brief time to and Indian prince by the name of Forgey? but that has never been confirmed. On September 18, 1842 in Chattanooga,Tennessee Mary Ann married William T. McCallie, This was a strange union because William T. 50 at the time and Mary Ann was only 15. To this marriage were born two children, Alice Helen McCallie, June 25, 1845 in Athens, McMinn County, Tennessee And John Henry McCallie April 26, 1847 in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee. Alice Helen McCallie married Dr. Hugh Lincoln Routh of Harrison Arkansas, To this marriage were born three children, Mary Louella "Lou" Routh February 15, 1870 / Charles Murrell Routh September 01, 1872 / George Crump Routh July 22, 1876. Alice & Hugh both are buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Harrison Arkansas. John Henry McCallie married Martha Ann Long., Between John & Martha they had nine children, William Theodore McCallie March 03, 1869 / James Charles McCallie July 15, 1871 / Thaddeous Lincoln McCallie June 08, 1874 / Maude Mitchell McCallie March 02, 1876 / Mary Sue McCallie December 14, 1878 / Alice Annie McCallie December 13, 1880 / Ross Denton McCallie March 16, 1882 / John Roy McCallie August 19, 1885 / George Washington McCallie May 18, 1888. John Henry McCallie is buried in Bomar Point Cemetery in Wilson, Carter County, Oklahoma, and Martha Ann long McCallie is buried in Hillcrest Cemetery at Weleetka, Okfuskee County, Oklahoma. After the death of William T. McCallie September 02, 1850, Mary Ann married John J. Dixon who was a neighbor. Her and John were married January 23, 1851 in McMinn Co, Tennessee. and to this marriage were born six children, Susan J. Dixon 1853 / James Dixon 1855 / William H Dixon 1857 / Samuel B. Dixon 1858 / Elizabeth H."Betty" Dixon 1860 / Francis (Fannie) Dixon 1865. "Note" The family moved from McMinn Co, Tennessee in 1868 to the Carroll county, Arkansas area. Included in this move was John & Mary Ann Dixon & Children / Alice Helen McCallie / John Henry McCallie and his new wife Martha.,Note John Henry & Martha later moved on to Indian Territory Oklahoma sometime after 1888 & the birth of their last child George W. McCallie., John & Mary Ann Dixon are both buried in Denver Cemetery, Carroll County, Arkansas.
