The family picture to the left is Sam & Adalaid with the three oldest children.

Married at least five times, divorced two.
First wife was Adalaide Taylor.
Second wife was Iller/Ilan Burleson, married 2 Dec 1911 in Elk Park, Avery Co., NC. (she is liste as 'Ola' on the marriage record.)
Both wives died young, after child birth. Adala & Iller are buried beside Sam on either side.

Third wife was Samantha Sneyd, married 30 Oct 1923 in Unicoi Co., TN (no children)
Fourth wife was Dora Shepard married on 6 Sep 1926, but they were divorced by 1930.
Last wife was Ellen Woodby Grace, married on 23 Jan 1934 in Carter Co., TN, he left her a widow.

I had a hard time finding Sam & Adala in the 1910 Census b'cuz the last name was spelled BIRY. see below.

Sam married Ellen (Woodby) Grace 24th of Jan 1934 in Carter County, TN.

In 1935 they had fraternal twins, a girl & a boy. The boy was either stillborn or died the same day. The baby girl died at 4 days.
