MARY GRACE WALSH KAISER was an accomplished homemaker, wife, mother of four, grandmother of 10 and an active Executive Secretary and Community Volunteer. She was also a founder of the St. Louis University Parents Association, a major fundraising and support group for the noted Jesuit university located in St. Louis, MO, as well as the Webster University Alumni Association.
Mary Grace attended Loretto Academy High School, Webster University and Hickey Secretarial School in St. Louis, MO, after which she served as an Executive Secretary for managing directors and a vice-president at Anheuser-Busch, Inc., as well as the Personnel Department at the world's largest brewery.
Mrs. Kaiser later distinguished herself as a dedicated 25-plus year volunteer member of St. Anthony's Medical Center Auxiliary, and a longtime docent of the Thomas Sappington House Foundation. She was also a founder of the Parents Association at St. Louis University, as well as an active alumni/member of the Loretto Academy and Webster University Alumni Associations.
Married to Max S. Kaiser, Sr. of St. Louis for more than 43 years, she died after battling cancer for more than seven long years on December 13, 2002.
More than 700 persons attended her wake, and 400 her Catholic funeral Mass. Mary Grace was buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Many people in attendance commented that her thoughtful, caring interest in other people, as well as her extensively developed "people skills," good looks and Irish charm made her particularly memorable.
