Prints Loyd Amerson, 79, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 in Longview. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2012 at Snow Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Darby officiating. Interment will follow in Snow Hill Cemetery.

Loyd Amerson was born March 23, 1933 in Mount Pleasant to Noah Printis Amerson and Ellie Grigsby Amerson. He worked for a lawn service and was an artist and engraver.

He is survived by a son,two daughters and numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a brother, of Cookville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vonnie Amerson; one half sister,Helen Nichols Stanley, four brothers, Clifton Rex, Marshall Roy, Travis Lee "Boots", Harold Dean and his parents.

Loyd and Vonnie Veron Pilgrim traveled to Hope, Hempstead County, Arkansas and got married there 9 August, 1952 because, at the time, a person could get a license and get married there without a 3 day waiting period.
