DALE E. CLAAR, of Claysburg RD 1, died at 7:10 a.m. yesterday, Oct. 3, 1976, at Altoona Hospital, where he was admitted Sept. 29, after suffering an apparent stroke. Mr. Claar was a former employee of the state Game Commission. He was presently working for ConRail as a clerk in the storehouse, Juniata Division. He also was operating a shoe repair shop in Martinsburg. He was born Feb. 23, 1923, in Roaring Spring, a son of Moses and Ethel (Johnson) Claar, and married Twila Knisely on July 13, 1944. Surviving are his wife, four children Larry M., Mrs. Joyce E. Corle and Mrs. Connie L. Malovich of Claysburg RD, and Ricky E., at home; six grandchildren, his mother and stepfather, Ethel and Edward Kavanaugh, in Canada; a step-brother, Thomas Kavanaugh in Canada, and stepmother, Mrs. Minnie Walter Claar of Claysburg. Mr. Claar was a member of the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Friends will be received in the Marvin C. Leslie Funeral Home, Claysburg, from 7 to 9 p.m. today, noon to 9 p.m. tomorrow and in the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren from 2 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
