It appears that 1926 engraved on memorial is incorrect, the 1924 year is from the WWII draft card, the age at death, and his 1942 graduation from high school.

Saturday, Feb 3, 1945:

Sgt. Charles A. Bouder, Jr., 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Bouder, Sr., 29 North West street, died January 15 in a hospital in France as a result of wounds received in action, according to a telegram received Wednesday evening from the War Department by his parents.

Sgt. Bouder was with the 290th Infant Division in Belgium when wounded early in January. The last direct word from him was received by his family on December 16.

Before going overseas last October, he had trained at Cornell University with a group of Army engineers. Bouder was graduated from Carlisle High School in 1942 and following his graduation he entered the service.

He was a member of the First Church of God Sunday School.

Before his entrance into the Army, he worked for Robert Adams, upholsterer.
