Mrs. Madge E. Harley Strickland 1901-1963), 62, of Brown’s Landing died in a local hospital at 2:10 a.m. today after a long illness. Mrs. Strickland had been a resident of Palatka for 17 years coming from Columbia, S.C.
She had been employed by the Hudson Pulp and Paper Corp. for 14 years as a registered nurse until her retirement last year.
She is survived by her husband, Clayton S. Strickland, Palatka; one daughter, Miss Gail Strickland, Glendale, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. George Bair, Palatka, and Mrs. Eddie Westbury, Harleyville, S.C.; three brothers, Clifton Harley, William Harley, and Rowell Harley, all of Harleyville, S.C.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Masters Funeral Home pending the arrival of relatives. Palatka Daily News, Tuesday, 9 Jul 1963.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Masters Memorial Chapel with Rev. Damon S. Scott, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Palatka Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be P. H. Parker, Ronald France, H. O. Dasher, Carl Bowdle, C. T. Kinard, Marvin Tucker.
