Their oldest sons Anne (18 y) and Bertus [Egbertus] Leep (16 y), both laborer, arrived on 31 May 1893 on the SS Maasdam at the port of New york, Ellis Island. Their destination is Chicago. Clara Leep died in June 1941 at the age of 91 years in Highland, 180 Indianapolis Boulevard. Her son Edward declared her death. She resided for six years in Highand and is buried as Bep Leep in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Lansing, Cook County, Illinois, about 6 miles west of Highland, like the nearby Dutch settlement South Holland and Highland located on the southern banks of the Calumet River.
Beppe is the Frisian word for grandmother; the shortening Bep became obviously her nickname.
