Lewis, age 73, died at his home in Petoskey. He was the son of Benjamin and Ellen (Ecklund) Brown. He graduated from Charlevoix (MI) High School in 1939. He married Jerolene Fochtman on December 29, 1942, in Petoskey. He served in the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He owned Brown Motors in Petoskey, which had been a family business since 1898. Survivors include his wife, his children, Steve Brown, Eric Brown, Sister Mary Noel Brown, Barbara Malpass, Beth Johnson, Margaret Loodeen, and Teresa Brown, 12 grandchildren, and his sister, Edna Danser. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Floyd, Laura, and Marguerite. Funeral services were held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Petoskey. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
