Gladys O. Rennecker, 85, died Friday at the Heritage Care Center in Tallahassee.
A native of East Moline, Ill., she had moved to Interlachen 23 years ago, coming from Moline, Ill. Last year she moved to Tallahassee to be near her son. She and her late husband, Reuben J. "Doc" Rennecker, helped to organize the Unit 16 and 17 Volunteer Fire Department in Interlachen. She was a housewife.
She is survived by a son, Donald A. Smith of Tallahassee; two stepdaughters, Laura Schurbon of Maquoketa, Iowa. and Helen Houge of Moline, Ill.; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at the Palatka Memorial Gardens with the Rev. James Roberson officiating.
