Joan Catherine Owens, age 65 of Speedwell, passed away Feb. 24 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol. She was of the Baptist faith and attended the Outreach Baptist Church in Middlesboro, KY. She was employed by The Peoples National Bank for over 25 years. Above all else her purpose in life was to be a mother to her two sons and that made her most happy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Henrietta Burgmeier; stepmother, Helen Burgmeier; great nephew, Dustin James Henson.
