First Sergeant Lynn H. Larrick, USMC retired, 80, of Jacksonville, died at his home. First Sergeant Larrick was born to the late Harry and Irene Ruthrauff Larrick. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Larrick. He served his country for 26 years as a Marine in World War II, Korea and Vietnam and received numerous medals and commendations, to include the Silver Star and the World War II Victory Medal. He was an avid hunter, devoted husband and father. He was a longtime member and ordained deacon at Midville Baptist Church. He also served his community for 20 years as a vocational education teacher at Jacksonville High School, where he was recognized as vocational teacher of the year in 1986. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louise Conner Larrick of the home; three daughters, Victoria Marshall of Uniontown, Ohio, Sandra Cates of Eden, N.C., and Deborah Hobbs of Lillington, N.C.; one brother, Jack Larrick of Cerro Gordo, Ill.; one sister, Charlotte Capps of Cerro Gordo, Ill.; six grandchildren, Justin and Damen Cates, Brannon and Adam Marshall, Elizabeth and Courtney Hobbs.
