Emma Katherine "Kathy" Bell Hicks, 63, of Asheboro, died Thursday the 21st day of February 2013 in her home surrounded by many family and friends.

Kathy Hicks was born the 18th of May 1950 to Francis Bell and the late Mr. Adrian Bell. She was preceded in death by her brother Adrian Dean Bell.

Kathy is survived by her husband Eric Martin "Ricky" Hicks, her 3 sons Brian Keith Hicks and wife Michelle of Murrells Inlet, SC, Eric Allen Hicks of Greensboro, and Kevin Martin Hicks of Asheboro, and 1 lifelong son Christopher Cole of Asheboro, her 3 grandchildren Jourdan Hicks, Austin Hicks, Abigail Hicks and one great grandchild Braelyn Hicks. She is also survived by her mother Francis Bell of Asheboro, her 2 brothers Jerry Bell and wife Judy of Mt. Airy, Ray Bell and wife Cathy of Archdale, her sisters Joan Pittman of Asheboro, Sherry Brady and husband Tony of Sophia, Gloria Pace and husband Larry of Charlotte. In addition to her many nieces and nephews whom she deeply loved.

Kathy was employed by RBC Centura for 25 years and served in several positions within the company. She was active in many different organizations in the area of Randolph County. She was involved with Relay for Life, Civitans and many other organizations. She was a very active member of Central Carolina Community Church of Asheboro. She touched someone in every aspect of her life.

Family will receive friends at Pugh Funeral Home of Asheboro on Saturday the 23rd of February from 6:00-8:00 PM and other times at her home. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 3:00 pm at Central Carolina Community Church with Pastor Ed Arroyo, Donald Dawalt, and John Hunsucker officiating. She will be laid to rest at Randolph Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009 and Randolph Cancer Center, 373 N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro, NC 27203.
