Beulah Marjorie Evans, 100, of Memphis, Missouri, died Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis.

She was born December 22, 1912, near Downing, Missouri, to William and Bessie Lee Mathes Becraft.

Marjorie grew up near Downing. She married Ralph Cloice Evans on May 20, 1936 and to this union two children were born. Marjorie moved with her husband to Osceola, Iowa in 1938. He died March 29, 1984.

She was an avid gardener and a passionate reader. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Osceola and was active in the service of her church. Marjorie was also active in P.E.O., Chapter K., in Osceola. She moved to Memphis in 2001 to be near her sisters.

Marjorie is survived by a son, Phil Evans, of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Karen Carroll, of San Diego, California; two sisters: Vetrice Goins and Dorene Moore, both of Memphis, Missouri and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Florence Weilbrenner; six brothers: Russell Becraft, Don Becraft, Eugene Becraft, Millard Becraft, Robert Becraft, Lowell Becraft and an infant sister, Estalene Becraft.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Memphis Funeral Home with Brother Larry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Barker Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 12:30 P.M. until the time of the Service. P.E.O. services will be held at 1:45 P.M. Casket bearers will be Marylee Cassels, Steve Evans, Mikel Becraft, LaVern Weilbrenner, Bill Cassels and David Kirkpatrick. Honorary bearers will be Dennis Becraft, Bill Becraft and Jay Orr.

The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to the Scotland County Care Center Activity Fund and may be left at or mailed to Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, Missouri 63555.

Arrangements are under the direction of Memphis Funeral Home.
