Mr. Bickerdike died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, in a Lindale nursing center. He was born on May 24, 1933, in Tyler, the son of Clyde Clint and Joyce Andrews Bickerdike. He was a lifelong resident of Swan, graduated from Tyler High School, and on May 24, 1951, he married Dorothy Ann Harrison. Mr. Bickerdike served in the United States Army and worked for Kelly-Springfield in Tyler for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the New Life Worship Center in Tyler, and was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edwin V. Bickerdike.
Mr. Bickerdike is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Dorothy Ann Bickerdike of Swan; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Billie Bickerdike of Tyler; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Randy Phillips of Tyler; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Betty Bickerdike of Tyler; sister-in-law, Joyce Bickerdike of Chandler; four grandsons, Ben Phillips, Matt Phillips, Hunter Bickerdike and Taylor Bickerdike; one great-great-granddaughter, Skylar Phillips; and Canine Companion, "Little LuLu."
