Raymond Richard McBryan (Ray) was born December 12th, 1923 in Chase, British Columbia to Alvina (Stahlecker) & Ray McBryan Sr.
His sister Margaret was born a twin in 1920 at Turtle Valley. Her twin died at birth.
His grandfather was an Irishman(1921 census says Scotland), having come to Canada in the early 1800'a with his friend Whitfield Chase and settled in the Shushwap area. Whitfield pioneered the village named after him, Chase, BC.
Ray's grandparents raised 13 children. His grandmother was of the Shushwap Nation, a native woman. She was well known and loved by everyone. She was known as a Princess.

Ray Jr worked first as a logger in the Shushwap area then worked in the Vancouver shipyards. He served in the Canadian Army in WWII. He was overseas for four years. After discharge, Ray returned to Vancouver, BC. He married and his son was born in 1947. In 1951 he moved his family to Terrace, BC in a 1929 0ne ton Chevrolet truck. In 1953 he bought a lot on the corner of Greig & Apsley on which he built his home. His second son was born. A daughter who died at birth. His marriage failed and he was divorced.

Ray met Betty (Haudenschild) Negraiff and they fell in love. It was July 23, 1971 when they married. Betty had four children Ray became step-father to.

Ray was a very warm, kind loving man. He was always telling jokes and always smiling. He is missed by his friends and family.

He lived at 4427 Greig ave, Terrace, BC until his passing in the house he built in 1956.
