Hartland - Donald G. Whitney Sr, 74, died peacefully on Friday, February 8, 2013, in Hartland. He was born on December 13, 1938, in Brentwood, New Hampshire, the son of Guy Whitney and Luda (Rideout) Estes. He attended High School in Millinocket and proudly served our country in the United States Army.
He is survived by his children; Donald Whitney Jr, Bridgette Whitney King, Patrick Whitney, Roxanne Gayle Gates, Erick Whitney and Julianne Rabb; brother, Frederick Whitney and wife, Glenda; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
(He also had four step brothers, Bud Vance, of Mo., Bill Vance, of Kansas, Frank Vance and wife Karyl, of Maine and Larry Vance and wife Denise, of Kansas, one adopted sister, Glenda Vance Stadley, of Kansas and many nieces and nephews.}
Interment will be held at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, in Augusta. (Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home)
