Gene T. Granger was the son of Mattie Shankle and William Wright Granger of McColl, S. C. He married Sara Jo Bearden and was the father of three daughters, Brenda Jo, Iris June and Beverly Kay. Grandchildren are: Bobbie Jo Jones, Mary Jo Jones, Robert C. Jones, III, Jon N. Granger, Alexis M. Quick, Dylan E. Quick and Dustin Quick. He has a surviving sister, Doris G. Burgos.
