U.S. Air Force Colonel James Robert Ourand (Retired), who was born in Millburn, New Jersey, was a resident of Murrieta for ten years.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1941 to 1971 and retired after thirty years of service with the rank of Colonel.

After his military career, James went to work for Northrop Aircraft in Santa Monica, retiring in 1988.

He is survived by his daughter: Susan Laxson of Palm Desert; two sons: Jim, Jr. of San Diego and John of Erie, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters: his twin Jane Smith of Maine and Barbara Salvani of Hawaii; and, two brothers: Bill of Virginia and Richard of Arkansas.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM at March Air Force Chapel Number 2.

Burial will be in Riverside National Cemetery.
